JSSEES is the abbreviation of the Japanese Society for Slavic and East European Studies.
JSSEES aims to encourage cooperative studies and investigations on subjects concerning the societies and cultures of the Slavic world or East European countries.
JSSEES publishes the serial “Japanese Slavic and East European Studies” on an annual basis to introduce to foreign academists recent works by Japanese researchers in these fields.
JSSEES consists of scholars studying subjects in these fields, largely divided into three groups: (a) literature, linguistics, fine arts, (b) politics, economics, law, sociology, and (c) philosophy, thought, history, geography.
Every member in JSSEES may contribute an article to the Journal and receive one annual volume for each unit of membership fee.
JSSEES membership is open to Japanese scholars and scholars form overseas residing permanently in Japan
